- Gift with Retained Right to Receive Income
- A life income gift is one in which you contribute assets to Waypoint while retaining the right to receive income. The two main types of life income gifts are charitable remainder trust or charitable gift annuity. Each has a slightly different use and tax result.
- Gift of Life Insurance
- You may convert existing or new policies into a charitable gift.
- Charitable IRA Rollover for Donors Age 70 ½ or Older
- Legislation extends opportunities for traditional or Roth IRA owners age 70 ½ or older to make direct, tax-free transfers to Waypoint up to $100,000. To make a charitable gift from an IRA, donors should contact their IRA trustee or custodian and notify our office of your plans so we may ensure proper transfer and receipt of your gift.
- Endow Iowa
- This program provides Iowa income tax credits worth twenty percent of the amount of the gift to individual and corporate donors who give to endowed funds at qualified community foundation. Waypoint has an endowment fund at The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation and gifts of any amount to this fund are eligible for tax credits. Checks may be written to the Waypoint Services Endowed Fund of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, 324 3rd St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401.
Whatever method you choose, Waypoint staff will work with you, your attorney, or investment advisor to ensure that your requirements are met. You can rest assured that the Endowment Investment Committee of the Waypoint Board of Trustees will use their expertise to carefully manage your gift.
