Traveling in a holiday-themed truck, the company delivered $5,000 in gifts to Waypoint kids ages 0-12 before the Winter Wonderland event. These gifts include dolls and accessories, food and kitchen play, craft kits, action figures, board games, puzzles, blocks, Legos, cars and trucks, as well as educational and riding toys.

Throughout the month of October, Waypoint will be working share information about domestic violence, healthy relationships, and what resources are available to those who may need support. This year, the program is facing an 8% funding cut, so community support is now more important than ever.

Waypoint is excited to announce a new initiative called the Caring Dads Program, which will be added to the multitude of services offered by the Domestic Violence Program. The Caring Dads Program has a goal of helping fathers improve their relationships with their children and end controlling, abusive, and neglectful behavior.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Waypoint is proud to be part of the effort to end domestic violence in our community. Domestic violence is a complex issue and requires a variety of approaches and solutions to help individuals from all backgrounds, ethnicities, and income levels move forward.

Waypoint gave me the experience in understanding how the nonprofit world works. Now I will be able to apply this knowledge in any future jobs I will have. I would not have been able to grow as a person without Waypoint and their staff helping me learn.

My name is Kailey Blunk, and I spent the summer working with Waypoint as a Resource Development & Marketing Intern. As I prepared for my senior year at Coe College as a public relations and communications double-major with minors in gender studies and creative writing, I knew I wanted to spend time completing an internship that was focused in marketing.

The month of May is nationally recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, meaning many resources are being shared regarding ways to find mental health support, ending stigma, and bringing awareness to illnesses that millions of people live with every day. However, few of these resources focus on the ways mental health interacts with other issues, such as the homeless.

April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month, which is a time to celebrate all the incredible individuals and groups who make an impact at Waypoint.

Waypoint is nothing without our community. For over 125 years, the community has been the backbone of the critical work we do in order to provide proactive resources and research-based solutions for those in crisis.
